Lecture by SERGIO JARAMILLO, 24 April 2024, “The challenges of seeking peace in conflict regions”

On the occasion of the presentation of these awards for the best dissertation in international relations, a conference by SERGIO JARAMILLO was organized on April 24, 2024, on the theme of the stakes of the search for peace in conflict regions.

Colombian diplomat and public figure, Sergio Jaramillo Caro is one of the initiators of the negotiations that led to the signing of the General Agreement for the End of the Conflict between the Government of Colombia and the FARC guerrilla group signed in 2016 in Havana, an agreement that establishes a transitional justice system for reconciliation. Today, he puts his expertise to work in the search for the resolution of ongoing conflicts. In early 2023, Sergio Jaramillo helped launch the initiative “Aguanta Ucrania”, which aims to raise awareness among Latin American public opinion about the dangers of Moscow’s aggression against Kiev for the respect of the basic rules of international relations.
